CD Information

Gene Taylor is a fabulous blues and boogie pianist who got his start working with the cream of the West Coast's blues stars, including Big Joe Turner, T-Bone Walker, Lowell Fulson and Pee-Wee Crayton. He later went on to work with Canned Heat, the Blasters, James Harman, the Red Devils and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. This CD sounds totally authentic, with Gene and the band working similar territory to Britain's Mike Sanchez (piano-based rock and roll, boogie and rocking blues). There is a good variety of material here, with Gene and the band totally at home with both old rockers and also tracks written especially for this record.
